Experience

Keith Scott is a settler Canadian researcher living in unceded Kanien'kehà:ka territory in southwestern Quebec. He supports the Regulatory team at Firelight as an Indigenous-led Impact Assessment Coordinator. He has a BA in English and Sociology and an MA in Environmental Humanities, an interdisciplinary program where he examined narratives of historical socio-environmental transformation in archived Canadian environmental assessment documents. He has training and experience in community-led research, archival research, document analysis, writing, and project coordination. Before joining Firelight, Keith worked as a research coordinator with the Environmental Justice Research Alliance, where he supported grassroots communities advocating for their environmental and social rights. He has also worked as an independent writer and researcher in the non-profit and media sectors. When not at work, Keith plays music and likes to take off on long, exploratory bike trips.
