Alexa is a Junior Researcher with The Firelight Group supporting the Regulatory Team. She is a settler with German, Finnish and English ancestral roots and is grateful to be living on the traditional unceded territories of the Anishinaabe Algonquin peoples. 

She holds a MEnv in Environmental Assessment from Concordia University, as well as a BSc Hons. in Environmental Science and a Certificate of Geographic Information Systems from Queen’s University. Her research focused on exploring how post-secondary educational institutions are responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission reports. She has also worked with Indigenous communities for the past two years on traditional use studies and decolonial education methods. During her free time, Alexa can be found outdoors, either biking, canoeing, camping, or tending to her vegetable garden.
