Boyd is a research coordinator with the Firelight Group, and works with the Community Planning, Traditional Use Studies, and Mapping and GIS teams. Boyd’s professional experience includes community and land use planning, spatial data analysis, cartography, traditional use studies, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and survey data collection. He also provides GIS training and mentorship (face-to-face and remotely) to GIS technicians while working on the geospatial data analysis component of land use plans.

Boyd holds a Master of Resource Management (MRM) degree from Simon Fraser University’s School of Resource and Environmental Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Technology, Jamaica.
