Dehga Scott is Tłįchǫ Dene from Yellowknife, NWT. She works as a Junior Researcher at Firelight, supporting the Health and IBA teams. Dehga is completing a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Governance from Yukon University, where she focussed on Indigenous health, policy, and self-government. Her academic training includes an on-the-land semester at Dechinta Bush University Centre for Research and Learning and has worked on decolonizing research methodologies. Dehga has worked closely with Indigenous communities in NWT in a variety of health-related positions. She is a founding member of Northern BirthWork Collective, an organization that aims to create culturally safe spaces and services for northern communities as it relates to reproductive health, pregnancy, birth, postpartum and the parenting journey.
