Rachel is an environmental assessment and regulatory researcher with The Firelight
Group. She worked for several years in environmental assessment in Yukon for both the
Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board and the Government of
Yukon. During that time she was involved in a variety of environmental assessments
including hard rock and placer mining operations, hydroelectric generating stations, and
residential expansion projects. Before moving to Yukon she was in Southeast Alaska
engaged in salmon habitat and restoration projects. Her graduate school research was
focused on indicators of successful collective management among shared resource users
and was completed at Michigan State University. Rachel also holds a Certificate in
Cartooning from the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, Vermont and
draws cartoons and illustrations in her spare time.
