Rena Case is Tsilhqot’in (Chilcotin) from TsiDelDel (Redstone) also called the Alexis Creek First Nations. Rena is a Research Intern with the Firelight Group in Vancouver. She grew up in the Tsilhqot’in territory and Williams Lake area. Rena describes her home as a beautiful place, and loves the isolation, peace and quiet of the land. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in First Nations and a minor in Anthropology. She enjoys researching and believes she got the gift of researching from her father and his teachings; she still remembers many of his teachings and feels honoured to have him as her father. In her spare time Rena enjoys reading Indigenous books and learning about other First Nations and communities.  One of her favourite outdoor activities is fishing and picking berries.
