New Name, New Teams. Same Services & Values. July 29, 2025 | Posted by Steve DeRoy, MSc New Name, New LogoRecently, we have been reflecting on our name and what it means to us as a company. I’m excited to announce we have decided to formally make a small rebrand from The Firelight Group to simply, Firelight. This name change is a natural transition for us. Firelight reflects the way folks often refer to us and how we refer to ourselves. It has been 15 years since our 8 founders came together to form a consulting group. Our new simpler name reflects our current stage of growth as a company, now a team of 100+ staff working across the country with 300+ Indigenous Nations and organizations. Reflection and adaptability have always been at the heart of our growth and we are excited to continue changing to meet our clients’ needs in this new stage. Two new teamsAt this time we have also officially brought some of our researchers together to form two new teams: Livelihoods and Stewardship. The Livelihoods team brings together researchers working in Indigenous Knowledge Research and Socio-Economic Research. Stewardship joins researchers working in Ecology and Planning & Implementation. These amalgamations will strengthen our internal collaboration and allow us to better address the critically-important issues our clients are managing in these areas.Staying in touchWe look forward to continuing our work with you with our new name and team structure! If you are in contact with any members of our team via email, you may have noticed our domain has also changed to @firelight.ca. All emails sent to @thefirelightgroup.com are still received so there is no disruption in communication with us. Share post The Firelight Group on Facebook The Firelight Group on Twitter
