Cameron Gunton is a Research Analyst with Firelight, working on the Indigenous Negotiations team. He is a euro-Canadian settler that grew up and lives on the territory of the Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) and Lekwungen (Songhees) First Nations in Victoria, BC. Cameron received a PhD and Master’s in Resource Management (Planning) from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a minor in Business from the University of Victoria. He has a background in IBAs, benefit-cost analysis, natural resource governance, impact assessment, and multiple account evaluation. Prior to joining Firelight, Cameron worked as an independent consultant supporting impact benefit agreement negotiations and impact assessments. In his spare time Cameron enjoys running, cycling, and learning how to ice skate (give him a break—he grew up in Victoria).
