Kathleen Heggie, MCRP

Experience

Kathleen is a Planner with the Firelight Group who has managed and supported a wide range of community-led projects since 2015, from comprehensive community plans to land use plans to climate adaptation work. She is passionate about supporting planning projects that are truly community-led and implementable, particularly when they overlap with her interest in local food security. She has conducted mapping, socioeconomic research, and analysis on various natural resource sectors related to land use and stewardship, and supported multi stakeholder engagement processes with First Nations, local and regional governments, industry stakeholders, and Provincial ministries across BC and Canada. Kathleen holds a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of British Columbia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Victoria. She is of English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry, and is grateful to be living on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) & səl̓ilwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) in Vancouver.
