Experience

Natasha (she/her) is a Research Manager at Firelight supporting the Livelihoods team. She is a member of Beausoleil First Nation (Gchi-Chimnissing) in Ontario working remotely on the traditional territory of the Kanien'keháka. She holds a Masters in Indigenous Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University. 

Natasha recently held the role of Director, Rights and Governance, at the Assembly of First Nations (AFN), where she managed projects to support the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), advancing First Nations' citizenship reform, and governance modernization. In previous roles at the AFN, Natasha developed and coordinated research projects with federal partners, the First Nations Information Governance Centre, and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives to advance First Nation's policy and funding objectives. She is passionate about working towards a future that ensures everyone has access to high-quality public services, programs and policies to address income inequality, climate change, and support Indigenous self-determination.
