Nicole Kaechele, MREM

Experience

Nicole Kaechele (Nikki) is a Research Manager with the Indigenous Negotiations team. She is a settler and lives and works from Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Ucluelet) on the Westcoast of British Columbia. Nikki holds an MREM from the University of Dalhousie, and an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria. She is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia. Nikki’s areas of expertise include: the implementation of collaborative governance agreements; the development of methods for compensating historical losses; and the revitalization of Indigenous laws, in partnership with colleagues from the Nuxalk Nation. If she’s not working, you’ll probably find Nikki swimming in the ocean or cooking some good eats.
