Experience

Regena (she/her) is excited to be part of the Mapping & GIS team as a GIS Analyst. She is a descendant of Scottish, English and Welsh settlers, living and working in Guelph, Ontario, on Treaty 3 Territory, Territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabeg, and Mississaugas of the Credit.

Regena received a Bachelor of Arts and Science with a minor in Geography & GIS from the University of Guelph, an Advanced Diploma in GIS Application from Vancouver Island University, and a Master of Arts in Geography from McMaster University as part of the StraightUpNorth Research Team. Her MA work supported the development process of the Inuit-led Qikiqtait Protected Area using Sanikiluarmiut (people of Sanikiluaq) harvester data collected on SIKU: The Indigenous Knowledge Social Network. She also has experience in treaty, lands, and archaeology mapping. She is passionate about working with communities on environmental and wildlife issues. In her free time, Regena can be found completely absorbed in a book, hiking with her dog, or attempting to crochet.
