The Firelight Group

Our Story

Since 2010, Firelight has been trusted to do high quality work that centres Indigenous knowledge and values to protect rights and advance self-determination. Starting as a group of 8 founding partners, Firelight has grown to a diverse, expanding team of over 100 professionals committed to our guiding principles of relationships, accountability, quality, and responsibility. Over the past 15 years, we have worked with over 250 clients on more than 1000 projects, delivering Nation-driven research and technical support that provides timely and effective results.

Indigenous Mapping Collective

We are honoured to host the Indigenous Mapping Collective and its annual Indigenous Mapping Workshop which has trained more than 2500 Indigenous mappers since 2014. Mapping is critical to supporting Indigenous rights and interests, decolonizing place and space, and sharing Indigenous stories of the land.
