Alexis Castle, BA

Experience

Alexis Castle (she/her) is a Research Analyst with the Indigenous Knowledge Research Team at The Firelight Group. Alexis is from the turtle and wolverine clans, and is a proud Anishinaabe/Saulteaux member of Skownan First Nation. She is also from Ebb and Flow First Nation and Lake Manitoba First Nation all situated in Treaty 2, Manitoba. She works remotely from Mohawk territory in Montréal, Québec.

Alexis has supported the Indigenous Knowledge Research team since 2016. She has assisted the team with community-based field research, analysis and writing for Indigenous communities throughout Turtle Island. Alexis has also provided support for the Indigenous Mapping Workshop as a coordinator from 2021 to 2022. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Victoria in 2020.

In her free time, you can find Alexis with her family hiking, reading, or sipping coffee anywhere outside.
