Experience

Amanda (she/her) is a Research Analyst with The Firelight Group, supporting the Livelihoods team. Her work focuses on conducting Traditional Land Use Studies and other research that supports Indigenous rights, values, and ways of life. She holds a Master of Environment with a specialization in Environmental Assessment from Concordia University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia, where she majored in Environmental Geography and minored in First Nations and Indigenous Studies.

Amanda feels grateful to support Indigenous communities in work that helps protect their relationships to land, knowledge, and ways of life. She’s especially interested in projects that explore the connections between environment and culture, and values research that’s collaborative, grounded, and led by community priorities. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her on the land with friends - hiking, skiing, or biking - or at home making art and scheming her next adventure.
