Ana is a Latinx-settler, living on the traditional, unceded Musqueam territory working as a Research Manager on the Livelihood team at the Vancouver office.
Ana is an anthropologist specializing in Indigenous use of space, land struggles, and urban anti racism, and has supported Indigenous nations and community initiatives for over 20 years with applied research, collaborative analysis and exploring non-traditional research communication forms, especially art-based research creation.
Ana has a PhD in Anthropology, from the University of British Columbia, where she has taught as an instructor since 2016, and a Licenciatura in Social Anthropology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She has worked as a researcher in Canada, the UK and Latin America, more recently in the project Cultures of Anti-racism in Latin America, based at the University of Manchester, UK and as part of Indigenous Intersectional Mobilities based at the University of RIo Negro , Argentina. She brings expertise in project design, collaborative decolonial methodologies and community-based project development from across Canada, the UK, and Latin America.
