Ayden (he/they) is a Researcher on the Indigenous Knowledge Research team. He has over 20 years of work experience with an interdisciplinary background, providing research and technical skills (e.g., writing and editing, qualitative and quantitative data analysis). Prior to joining Firelight, Ayden held the role of Senior Language Programs Assistant at the First Peoples’ Cultural Council’s Language Department, connecting with Indigenous communities across colonial British Columbia, Canada, about their language programs and funding requirements. Ayden has their Master of Arts in Linguistics (University of Victoria), as well as a BA in Linguistics and Anthropology (University of Calgary).
During spare time, he enjoys cooking, casual fitness and practicing yoga, reading, video games, adventuring in cities and nature, and exploring new hobbies.
