Experience

Oki, nitsiska’sim ook’yohtowa, nitomahtoto Siksika Nation, Skwah Nation, ki El Salvador (Hello, my name is Heard from all over, I am from Siksika Nation, Skwah Nation, and El Salvador). Along with my Niitsitapi name, I am Cecilia Raweater. Through my maternal lineage, I am Sto:lo from the Skwah Nation and Blackfoot from Siksika Nation. I was raised predominantly with my Blackfoot ways of knowing, on my traditional territory located in southern Alberta. I am a Research Intern, a part of the Negotiations team. 

I am currently preparing to pursue a Master of Anthropology at UBC, building on a BA in First Nations and Indigenous Studies. Experienced in legislative analysis through work with the Declaration Act Secretariat, archival research at the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre, youth work at the  Urban Native Youth Association and Siksika Nation.
