Experience

Justin (he/him) is a Research Director with Firelight. He has 15+ years of experience in Canadian environmental policy research, impact assessment, and Indigenous rights and interests within the private and academic sectors. Over the past seven years, he has prepared assessments of major project impacts on Indigenous interests, undertaken social, economic, and land use impact assessments, and provided strategic regulatory oversight and consultation advice. Previous research projects focused on the social impacts of large-scale natural resource development and sociological analyses of land use planning, conservation design, environmental technologies, rural community resilience, and Indigenous environmental justice.
