Experience

Aislinn (ash-lyn) is a Research Analyst at the Firelight Group, supporting the Health team. She is a second-generation settler with ancestral roots in Ireland, currently living on the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) peoples.

Aislinn holds a Master of Criminology degree from the University of Ottawa, which she completed in 2021 with a focus on the social impacts of criminalization and incarceration, and on alternative models rooted in community leadership and care. She also holds a Creative Writing Certificate from Simon Fraser University.

Aislinn is a skilled writer and facilitator with extensive experience in event planning. With Firelight, Aislinn has organized several large-scale events and contributed to a range of projects supporting Indigenous cultural health and wellness, Indigenous-led education and employment programs, and socio-economic impact assessments across Canada. She has also supported a number of community-based harm reduction and violence prevention initiatives. Aislinn is driven by a commitment to work alongside First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities in advancing their visions for strong, safe, and thriving futures.
