Emily Keane, BA

Experience

Emily (she/her) is a Junior Communications Specialist at The Firelight Group. She is a settler of Irish ancestry, residing on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewas, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. Emily graduated from the University of Guelph in 2017 with a double major in International Development & History, focusing on development in the Canadian context. During her undergraduate degree, she had the opportunity to work with the Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund; providing research for their proposed questions on community economic development and governance.

Emily has experience working with charities and community events to utilize social media as a communication and marketing tool; growing engagement through newsletters and customer databases; and developing a brand identity that is seamless across all platforms.

In her free time, Emily enjoys baking and learning to sew.
