She managed collaborative marine planning and management initiatives for the Council of the Haida Nation before joining Fisheries and Oceans Canada where she led technical aspects of marine conservation and marine mammal management in the Pacific Region. She has also worked as an instructor at several post-secondary and community-based institutions in BC and the UK. Much of her research and consulting work has focused on impact assessment processes and analyses in consideration of Indigenous communities and interests.
