Sabrina Fields, BA

Experience

Sabrina (she/her/they/them) is the Communications Coordinator at The Firelight Group and for the Indigenous Mapping Collective. She is an English, Irish, and French settler living in Tkaronto (Toronto) on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewas, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples.

Sabrina graduated from York University in 2018, Summa Cum Laude, with an Honours degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Gender & Women’s Studies. She is passionate about storytelling as a means of community building. She has experience working with organizations and communities to develop communications strategies, social media campaigns, analytics tracking, newsletter design, blog, and technical writing, event planning, video editing, and graphic design.

Sabrina has communications experience working in the non-profit, private, and public sectors. During her undergraduate degree, Sabrina interned for the Toronto Arts Foundation’s Neighbourhood Arts Network as a member of their Communications Team. She gained valuable experience working on community development projects and communications initiatives in Kasana, Luweero, Uganda at the Shanti Uganda Society. In her spare time, you can often find her sipping tea in a pair of slippers, dancing while cooking a meal in the kitchen, painting, arranging home decor, or watching cartoons. Sabrina is honoured to grow her career as part of the Firelight team.
