Dr. Bimadoshka Pucan is Anishinaabe from Saugeen First Nation #29 in Southern Ontario. Bimadoshka is a Research Manager with Firelight’s Indigenous Knowledge Research division. She specializes in archival history, community-based health, and protecting cultural intellectual property. Her PhD work focused on the philosophy of M’shkiki through the digitization and repatriation of Sacred Songs and Stories of the Anishinaabeg.Bimadoshka holds a PhD in Anthropology (2019), a Master’s in Public Health (2014), and an honours undergraduate degree in Psychology and specializing in First Nations Studies (2013). In addition, Bimadoshka holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education (2009). When not at work, you will find her Jingle Dress dancing across Turtle Island.
