Shay Boechler, BA

Experience

Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C., Shay feels fortunate to currently live, work and play on the lands of the Lekwungen-speaking Peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.

Community engagement is Shay’s passion and she has spent over ten years working alongside Indigenous communities across Canada to support community-based language revitalization efforts. Shay has also been involved in community-led research that seeks to transform the tech and innovation ecosystem for and with Indigenous People. Shay holds a degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Victoria. In her free time, she can be found hiking, camping and paddle boarding.
