Victoria (she/her) is a Junior Researcher with the Socio-economic team at The Firelight Group. She brings experience from the First Nations Fisheries Council of BC, where she supported advancing First Nations authority in fisheries and aquatic resources. Victoria earned a BA in Economics from the University of Calgary, focusing on natural resource and environmental economics, and a certificate in Behavioural Insights Fundamentals from the University of British Columbia. Prior to studying Economics, Victoria pursued Electrical Engineering, and appreciates the opportunity to apply her technical skills in diverse fields.Victoria is a settler of European ancestry and grew up in Calgary, Alberta, on Treaty 7 territory. She now lives in New Westminster, situated on the traditional territory of the Qayqayt First Nation and the Coastal Salish peoples. When she isn’t working, you can find her volunteering for Metro Vancouver regional parks either pulling invasive plants, managing volunteer administrative duties, or leading guided nature walks.
