Apply to the Environmental Dispute Resolution Fund
From http://www.wcel.org/environmental-legal-aid/apply-edrf
If you are working in your community to protect BC’s natural environment, and you need legal assistance, then the EDRF can help. We want to fund groups that are building their community’s environmental voice and will work in partnership with their lawyer to win an environmental victory.
Funding goes towards the costs of hiring a lawyer (and possibly experts or mediators where that’s part of a legal strategy) at a legal-aid rate of $80/hr. The applicant is responsible for confirming a private lawyer, and any other experts involved in the case, prior to making an application.
We recommend that all interested applicants contact the EDRF staff before filling out an application form. If we determine that you meet the criteria and are eligible to apply for an EDRF grant, you will be invited to submit an EDRF application.
Applications are received 4 times per year, in January, March/April, July and October. Application deadlines for the next quarterly meeting is July 6th, 2017.
