Jack is a Junior Researcher with The Firelight Group and is supporting the Socio-Economic team. Jack grew up on Vancouver Island. In 2016, he completed an honours BSc in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria and in 2020, Jack completed his MA in Cultural Anthropology also at the University of Victoria. His collaborative research combines methodologies from anthropology and geography, exploring the cultural dimensions of pyropia spp., a culturally important seaweed in the Salish Sea and mapping the contemporary concerns partnered Hul’qumi’num communities have about this seaweed. Jack is excited to continue learning in his role with The Firelight Group. In his spare time, Jack enjoys long distance hiking and rock climbing.
