Jordan is a Research Director with Firelight. His doctoral work at the University of British Columbia focuses on the resilience and adaptive capacity of Chilean artisanal fishing communities in the face of social and ecological change and their associated impacts.

Jordan also has a BA in psychology, and in his MA studied perceptions of risk around biological conservation under climate change. He has also worked and published on topics related to cultural ecosystem services, the integration of social considerations in conservation planning, and the contributions of nature to human well-being.
