Julian Morrison is a Senior Health Researcher with the Firelight Group. She is Mi’kmaw from Ktaqmkuk (NL), lived in K’jipuktuk (Halifax) for nearly 20 years and now resides in Ontario on the traditional unceded territory of the Anishinabe Algonquin Nation.
Julian has a Master of Health Leadership from Athabasca University and Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Dalhousie University, focusing on the social determinants of health, community engagement and health promotion. Throughout her career, Julian has held leadership positions where advancing reconciliation and building mutually beneficial partnerships with community, regional and national First Nations, Inuit and Métis organizations has been at the core of her work. She is passionate about collaborating with Indigenous people on a common wholistic vision to support self-determination, navigating colonial and Indigenous political systems to transform policy and leveraging shared expertise to support capacity development.
Outside of work, Julian can be found with her husband and three dogs, running agility, or dreaming of the next big travel adventure.
