Allie is a terrestrial wildlife specialist with an educational background in human geography and ecology. She has diverse experience working at the intersection of wildlife management, environmental regulatory, and community-led projects with Indigenous Nations across Canada. She regularly supports communities with environmental impact assessment processes for a variety of project types including transmission lines, pipelines, roads, mines, and nuclear developments. This has included reviewing regulatory documents (e.g. EAs, management or monitoring plans, etc.) and working closely with communities to advocate for avoidance, mitigation, monitoring, and/or accommodation measures that integrate Indigenous knowledges and perspectives related to ecosystems and wildlife species. Allie also supports communities with engagement with proponents and regulators, desktop and field based traditional use studies, critical reviews of environmental policy and legislation, and the development and implementation of environmental monitoring and species at risk stewardship programs.
