Caitlyn is Métis and is a member of the Métis Nation of Alberta. Caitlyn graduated from the University of Lethbridge in April 2022 where she obtained a BSc in Environmental Science. Caitlyn also holds two technical diplomas in Environmental Stewardship and Rural Planning and Reclamation and Remediation from Olds College (2016-2018). During her undergraduate studies, Caitlyn gained 3 years of experience in social and environmental monitoring, environmental research, reclamation and closure planning, as well as Indigenous stakeholder relations. Prior to joining Firelight in 2022, Caitlyn worked as an environmental scientist focusing on Section 35 Treaty Rights and environmental consultation with the conservation, oil and gas, mining, and transportation industries. Caitlyn current resides near Calgary, AB.
